I am hoping there might be a way to pre-load the content that should go into the Invite field be default. This way when a person clicks to invite their friend all they have to do is put in some email addresses and send if they are happy with the text that we pre-load!

Also, do we have a choice about the text editor? I use JCE everywhere else. :-)

Hi,

Both are possible. I will promptly add it into the upcoming release of EasySocial.

However could you help me a hand by providing me a sample paragraph of what the default invite text should be?

I can give you something very generic that you might put in as default text. But, I am going to definitely change mine to be all about Plant-based nutrition and the focus of my site. :-) Thank you for adding this to the next version. Here is something very generic you might be able to use:

"I would like to invite you to the Name_of_Site social networking web site that I believe you will enjoy."

Very nice!!! :-)
I am assuming a later version will have configuration options. I appreciate what you did to hold me over until then. :-) Hopefully your patch won't be written over when we do the next upgrade. :-)

Hi Sean,

It is using a language string with the key of COM_EASYSOCIAL_FRIENDS_INVITE_MESSAGE_CONTENT.

Hi Jason,

If you use Event Bright, they have a very nice Email template for their event invites. Personally, I would love it if you guys would use the same format at least which you already use in some of the email templates.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi Jackson,

The event invites does have an email template that you can customize.

Hi jason
could you also apply a patch on my website as well because i have been thinking of doing the same thing Sean Carney is talking about ..... i need to have default text into the Invite field.

Also, about the text editor.... to my side i don't need it. i only want a plain text field which i have posted a snapshot below

Regards
Goodwin

Hi Goodwin,

I've made the necessary changes on your site as well. However:

1. The editor is following the Site Config editor. You will have to set the default editor from there.

2. The text that appear in the content is using the language key of COM_EASYSOCIAL_FRIENDS_INVITE_MESSAGE_CONTENT. You can use Joomla's language manager to override this.
