in Easysocial I need Facebook profile import feature from Jason file. from front-end user side so can give the user to import his profile.

Is there any feature available in Easysocial right now?
Hi Michael,

Unfortunately importing profile information using json file from Facebook is not possible.

Currently the only way to import Facebook profile information is by signing up with Facebook or linking the account from the user edit profile page, and only limited information can be imported depending on your Facebook app.

@Raymond (or, anyone) -

"linking the FB account from the user edit profile page": is this a custom field that would need to be created to input a FB profile, or is there a default field for FB Profile link (kind of like there is for Skype)?

Just curious as I would love to have our User's be able to link to their other profiles (FB, LinkedIn, Twitter)/show on their User profiles

thx!

i don't mean to bump/double ping here but i just realized i'm missing the "SOCIAL INTEGRATIONS" section from Edit Profile entirely (reference attached images for comparison).

[*] is this because we are using JFBConnect for Login/Authentication??? (reference es-jfbc-social-integration plugin image)

Hi John,

The 'social integrations' section only appear in the edit profile page when users already have their social media account linked.

If users have not linked their social media account, the only time to do it is via the sign in process. For example, if you sign in with Facebook, and your Facebook account is not linked with any account on the site yet, you may link it on the following page(attached).

If you have any other issues, do start a new thread.

Thank you, Raymond - i see what you are saying here (that the data is collected & linked at authentication/login). LinkedIn and FB both sure have gotten tricky for all of us lately with all the new changes/permissions, etc.

TL;DR
Q?: If we are using the JFBConnect Component with EasySocial Integration, User Social Profiles WILL, or WILL NOT show on the user's EasySocial Profile/Edit Profile Page (as/under "SOCIAL INTEGRATIONS")?

1) if we are using the JFBConnect Component for Login/Authentication (integrated with EasySocial - reference attachment: consulted_004), does this mean that the Social Profiles will not show up as being linked from authentication (i.e., social Integrations only show on the User Profile/Edit User Profile details if you are using the native EasySocial Login modules - JFBC will not work in this way)?

a) for example, if I login with LinkedIn via JFBConnect, nothing appears to be synced to EasySocial as there is still nothing showing under Edit Profile/SOCIAL INTEGRATIONS:
i) the App is collecting the correct data at Login (reference attachment: consulted_003),
ii) the JFBConnect Component is set to capture that data (reference attachment: consulted_006)

* Is the JFBConnect component authenticating for EasySocial but not syncing the captured Social Profile data? I don't see how or why that would be possible given that is the actual point of the integration; and

** if this isn't part of the integration between EasySocial and JFBC, the only other way i can see how to do this would be to create custom profile fields and map those between JFBC and EasySocial (reference attachment: consulted_005), but that would be entirely different/separate from whatever native fields EasySocial has mapped for the "SOCIAL INTEGRATIONS" profile data to be stored in db, and that information would still not natively display in EasySocial as originally intentended/constructed.

Thanks @Raymond (and anyone else) for any and all advice on this matter - apart from authenticating/login the most basic element here is of course to show that user's Social Profiles (links to) on their EasySocial Profile.

Actually you do not need to submit extra permission from your Facebook/Linkedin app, if you just want to allow user can able to sign up via Facebook/Linkedin only, you do not need to submit this app for review.

Yes, it will not show that social integration from the user edit profile page, that section only available for the Easysocial built-in social integration but user can sign up via different social login from JFBconnect login module.

If you using JFBconnect integration with Easysocial, it actually depend on JFBconnect what kind of user data they collect from Facebook user profile, because this part should be handling from the JFBconnect instead of Easysocial.

Since you shown us some screenshot (consulted_005) JFBconnect there can allow admin to map those custom field, I believe this will be possible to map those Facebook user data into Easysocial custom field.

Perhaps you can consult with JFBconnect provider and see how it goes.

Hmmmm ok I think I see my mistake thx for the replies!

Sorry to be a pain here, but I cannot seem to find any information on "Link My Account" for "Existing Users" (or anything on this "SOCIAL INTEGRATIONS" section in the User Profile) within the official EasySocial Documentation.

1) could you point me to where this documentation is? and/or
2) could you tell me which EasySocial Login Module is used where the user can then "Link My Account" (or is it some other Module)?

No problem at all John

Perhaps you can start a new thread on our forum regarding with your new question so we can follow up with your question easier? Because this thread originally was posted from other customer and the new question you asked is totally different than the initially question of this thread.

Thanks for understanding.
