I need a module that can display featured articles in the specific category in the Easyblog so that I may be able to design my site as newspaper.

Yes, we have a module that it can display featured articles in Easyblog, that module name call "Showcase Slider Module", but it didn't have a option for set the specific category in current version. If you want that feature, we can try to hack for you.
If yes, could you mind provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access ? Please advise.

Sorry for the misunderstanding earlier. You can specify which category to be displayed in the module setting: http://screencast.com/t/qKC2S7Qqc .
