Hi,

I recently switched from local to S3 for avatars, files & photos and then ended up migrating the site and also changing the bucket name as well as deleting all local media on the server. I managed to totally screw everything up and to get it all back I manually uploaded all the media to the server and to S3. Now it's working, but on the server ALL the photos are still there. I assume because the cron already detects them on S3 it takes no action and leaves them on the server instead of deleting them. I would like to delete all these local files, I don't care about image rotation (will hide it through CSS). Question:

1) Will the cron re-populate my server with the _original photos from S3?
2) Will I break anything by deleting the /avatars/ and /photos/ directory entirely from my server?

Thanks!
Hello Steven,

I am not really sure how the current setup is but if everything is already uploaded on S3 and if all the image sources are referring to these images on S3, it should be safe to delete them. Perhaps before deleting them, try renaming the folder first and see what is the outcome of it.
