Hi Mark,

Can you tell me whether it is possible to make a persons wall closed, from other leaving messages on their wall?

Thanks
Katie
Hi Katie,

Can you tell me whether it is possible to make a persons wall closed, from other leaving messages on their wall?

To stop other user post update on your profile page, what you can do is to login to EasySocial frontend and go to your privacy setting page and click on 'profile' and select 'only me' on the 'post story' rule. Please http://screencast.com/t/suVIA3FSFhPV

With this way, only you can post status on your wall

Hope this help and have a nice day

Thanks Sam

I was hoping there might be a button that does this for every member though...

Any luck there?

Cheers

Hello Katie,

Since you only have 1 profile created on your site, go to the profiles section, and edit the default profile. Then, under the privacy tab, you can actually reset all privacy for the users on the site but of course, if the user changes it later, it would be changed as well.

Hi guys,

Earlier I changed the profile privacy settings of "Who can post status on my profile page" to "Only Me", but for some reason I can still see the "Share whats new" in everybodies profile.

Hello Katie,

Sorry, but I don't really understand you here. The "Share what's new box" is not related to the privacy actually.

Oh sorry, I must have mixed things up in my head.

Basically what I want is; you know how, in the frontend, you can set your own profile settings to "Only Me" for "Post Story"

Well I want that automatically for everybody, so that you can only post stories in your own profile, but not others.

Hi Katie,

I am sorry for the late reply.

I am sorry for the confusion. Regarding the below:

Basically what I want is; you know how, in the frontend, you can set your own profile settings to "Only Me" for "Post Story"

There is an issue with the profile privacy where user default privacy is not 'following' from the profile in version 1.0.8. Anyway we've already fixed this issue in version 1.0.9. If you are not using version 1.0.9, then I advise you to upgrade your EasySocial to latest version 1.0.9.

With this latest version of EasySocial, when you set the privacy 'post story' to only me, new users that signed up under this profile will automatically assigned with the same privacy. As for existing users, you will have the users to update their profile privacy manually

Hope this help and have a nice day

Hi Sam,

Ive just updated the latest version, but Im getting strange results. I have 6 members (all fake for testing) and each have different settings. Its weird because I dont remember changing some, its as if they changed on there own. Mainly Im talking about the "Post Story" setting. Some have it on "Only Me" and some dont.

I went to the profile I have them all in, and have has it on "Only me" in the privacy setting there...also I ticked the reset button for all users at the top, but they all still have different settings.

Sorry If Ive done this myself somehow

Hi Katie,

I am sorry for the late reply.

Regarding your issue, look like the privacy reset on profile page only work on some rules. I've fixed this internally and the fix will be added into next release. For the time being, can you pass me your Joomla site backend access and your ftp account so that I can apply the patch on your site?

Please advise.
Hope this help and have a nice day

Hi Katie,

Thanks for the ftp account. I've applied the fix on your site and I then go to backend under profiles page and select your profile. In the privacy tab page, I checked the 'Check this to reset the user's privacy. (This will also reset previous privacy settings) ' option and click saved. Now all your users the 'post story' is following your profile

Please verify again.
Hope this help and have a nice day
