I have installed Easyblog 5.01, but do not see "Add Block" at the top of the blog entry screen next to "add media" and "add Post". I see this in the example images.

What am I missing.

John Palmer
Hello John,

In order to enable the Blocks functionality, you got to use our own text editor.

Joomla Backend > Components > EasyBlog > Settings > General

From here, go to 'Composer' tab, checkout the 'Editor' panel, switch the 'Composer Editor' to 'Built in - EasyBlog Composer'.

Hope this will help, please let us know if you need further assistance.

Hi guys, I've got the same problem as John and I've checked that the composer is set to Built in - EasyBlog Composer as above, moving it to JCE editor and back to Built in - EasyBlog Composer which changes, but at the top of the there is no block (also I've checked and all the block types are published)... any other ideas?

Regards
Andy

Hello Andrew.

You need to change this setting to use default in Components > EasyBlog > Author > [choose the author]

Hope this help

Hi Izzan,

Unfortunately that's not the trick, I've already got that set to use default on the user and the system general settings to the new editor.

I upgraded the component from an earlier version rather than a clean install from launcher, is there some setting else where to turn this on?

P.s. I've tried in two browsers Firefox and safari as well with no luck.

Thanks

And same issue here.

But I notice I am not alone, so will wait till there will be a fix.

Just as Andrew Phillips, I also upgraded the component from an earlier version rather than a clean install from launcher. Maybe this has something to do with it....

Hello Cbais.

Did you already change the editor setting for your author to Use Default in EasyBlog > Author > [choose the author] ?
http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-22_1048.png

If yes, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can check this issue directly ?

Looking forward for your reply

I tried all the things mentioned above in this thread...none ot them worked....

However, because I also just installed easyblog over the old version, just like Andrew Philips did, I tried to completly uninstall easyblog and everything that was related to it...

Then I installed easyblog as a clean install..

and the problem was fixed...

Hi Izzan.
Looks like the blocks appears in new posts but not in the old ones.
In any case, for me it's Ok.

Thanks!

Hello Emilio.

The existing blog post still use the old editor because this will prevent the post lost the styling and messing around.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Hello,

I have a somewhat similar problem with "Blocks" but in a different area.

I can see and access the "Add Blocks" tab in the upper left of the editor, but when I add a block, I don't see any options to edit the block in the panel to the far right of the editor. Please see my screenshot attached. The right Block panel is completely blank. Is it supposed to be that way? One reason why I ask is because when I added a Tabs block, I was trying to see how can I create more than 1 tab in the block? So I clicked on the "Blocks" tab to the right and nothing appears in the panel.

I have uninstalled Easyblog and reinstalled it and the issue still persists. Please help. Thanks.

Hello Sarah,

By right the block tab should be displaying as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-07-06_1431.png . Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on the issue directly? If possible kindly create a new thread instead to avoid any confusion between our staff here.

Hi Ezrul,

It has been resolved on my site. Custom code that I had done on my site was appearing in the Easyblog component on the frontend and the backend and it blocked certain features in the editor. The code has been removed and all seems to be working just fine.

Easyblog 5.0 looks amazing. I can't wait to introduce it to my subscribers.

The block menu is located at the top left of the composer as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/gaJInHumFrL . Please have a look.

Hi Hans,

I am sorry but it is not possible to use easyblog built in editor for the legacy post as easyblog composer structure is different than the legacy editor structure.
