Unfortunately, the Easydiscuss latest version was no longer to support Joomla 1.5 version already, so you should upgrade to your Joomla site unless 2.5 version first, then update the latest version of EasyDiscuss. Hope his help.

Unfortunately we will not be supporting Joomla 1.5 any longer. The decision was made simply because we do not want you to run a site that may get hacked at any point of time. I have seen too many Joomla 1.5 sites getting hacked. Furthermore, by having Joomla 1.5 support, the code base for the extension will be extremely large.

I would strongly advise you to upgrade to Joomla 2.5. There are free / paid tools that would actually help you here, http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migration-a-conversion/joomla-migration
