Hello Hasan,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Same problem here.
It only shows "Retrieving list of languages ..."
In my case I'm inside an intranet using a proxy/firewall. Could it be the problem?

Hello Rodrigo,

As long as your proxy / firewall is allowing access to port 80, it is fine but from the looks of it, it does seem like it's not allowing outgoing connections.

Hello loic berder ,

I have a little bit lost here, did you mean that you would like your frontend/backend also using the French language right?
I have checked in your frontend and backend, it seems like the language is translated to French. Or can you provide some screenshot which part is not get translated? Please advise.

Hello loic,

I guess the problem is probably because the French language file isn't updated yet. Can you take a look at the language file and see if it is translated?

Hello Mark,
yes the languages files are translated :
/administrator/language/fr-FR/fr-FR.plg_app_user_kunena.ini
/administrator/language/fr-FR/fr-FR.plg_app_user_blog.ini
...
but the file dates indicate that they are olds (from previous version)... so they have not been updated
anyway, even if they are old, why easysocial ignore them ??

hey loic,
in the latest easysocial versions we're only loading one single language file (much better in terms of performance) , this file also includes apps/ fields etc. - therefore the old seperate files aren't used at all. (this might be the reason they're ignored right now at your end)

Yep, as Alex mentioned above, we no longer load them to avoid any "performance" issues. You can however, copy the existing language constants in these app language files and place it within en-GB/en-GB.com_easysocial.ini

Thanks alex and mark
i did'nt notice that... so i'll put all my french app files in there : fr-FR/fr-FR.com_easysocial.ini

Does it also explain that in admin even if you upgrade the language
receive the green message : language successfully installed
it continue to ask for upgrade... always... !!!!

Is there a place where we can download the language bundles for each software? (not downloading each file from transifex)

Hello Rodrigo,

Here's the thing, earlier we thought it was easier if you could download from http://stackideas.com/downloads/languages . However, not many novice users really understand what the package does. Hence, we altered EasySocial so that it also includes a language section which you can use to download immediately.

In short,

EasyBlog, Komento, EasyDiscuss language files - http://stackideas.com/downloads/languages

EasySocial - In your extension under the Languages section

In the future, we are going to move all our extensions so that it works like EasySocial and as soon as we start re-packaging our extensions to look similar, I guess you will have a lesser learning curve as well.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the explanation.
Our site is an institutional intranet, so I'm having trouble using the automatic download in easysocial (proxy issues).
What do you think of keeping both mechanisms for clients like me. Those who have download problems.

TIA,
R.

Hello Rodrigo,

I would strongly suggest that you speak with your network administrator to allow access to "stackideas.com" so that it can download the language files. Otherwise, the only way is for you to access transifex and manually download them.
