Hello SI Support Team,

I'm noticing that when I search from the main search box in ED that the results rendered from the system have a bunch of HTML code in the short description. You can see what I'm talking about in the attached link or you can just do a search for 'Power Supply' in the main search box for my site. Is there a way to fix this? When you open the discussion, all displays just fine.

Thanks!

Mel
Hello Mel,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hi Mark,

Just to add to this, I've also added a module to the home page titled 'Latest Knowledge Base Entries'. You can see the problem exist there as well. The modules and previews seem to work well otherwise.

Mark,

Also, if you click on a discussion from the module described above, I get a red bar just below the ED toolbar that says 'Unable to load stylesheet for mod_recentdiscussions.'. I've noticed this error intermittently for a while but I've dismissed it as an anomaly. It seems to be consistent with this module though. Any idea where this is coming from?

Thanks!

Hello Mel,

Can you give this a try again? I have applied some fixes on your search result. However, I don't seem to get the red bar that you have mentioned earlier. Can you please advise?

Hi Mark,

That seemed to help on the search results. It looks like there are still a few issues.

1.) Please see the attached "Preview Length" image. Why is the preview text length different? It seems like they should both be about the same length.
2.) See the attached "Red Bar" picture. I get that when I click on the "Knowledge Base" link from my website homepage.
3.) See the attached "Module Problem" image. You can see that these also have the HTML in the text issues that the search results have. Can you apply the fix to that as well?

Also, will the fixes you applied be overwritten by future EasyDisucss updates?

Thanks so much for the help!

Hello Mel,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Please find your replies as below.

1. This is because of the word you are searching for. In the first posts it displays more because the word "power" appears multiple times. For the second posts it appears once only thus it displays only the part where the word "power" shows up

2. I have fixed this for you

3. I have fixed this for you as well.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hi Adelene,

Thanks for the help!

Could you clarify:

Will your changes be overwritten by future ED updates?

With regard to question 3, I plan on utilizing other ED modules. Will the changes you made also fix those modules as well or is it just for the latest discussions module?

Thanks!

Hello Mel,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. For 2nd issue, all i did was go to backend -> EasyDiscuss -> Settings -> Layout -> General and set the "Test Compile Stylesheet" to module and click "Test Compile".

For the 3rd issue, this fix will be in future EasyDiscuss release. What I did was change the codes in line 144 from
	$row->content	= DiscussHelper::wordFilter( $row->content );

to
$row->content 	= strip_tags( html_entity_decode( DiscussHelper::wordFilter( $row->content) ) );

in the file

JOOMLA/modules/mod_recentdiscussions/helper.php

Hope this helps.

Thanks!
