To be able to add that you will need to create a new custom field app I will see if we could add a Mailchimp field in 1.2 or 1.3

How do you create an app?
I went to applications > fields but I dont see an option to create a new app.

You need to actually write php codes to create an app and not from the back end

oh got it. Ok I'm not a programmer yet but I think I can figure this think out some how. If you guys could make an html capable field would be great.

Actually now that I think about it and read this again I am not sure if you understood what I was asking for.

Basically I already have the code provided by mail chimp that will create a field to enter the email address and the button to submit and registered to receive newsletters linking to the campaign I have.

I can add this anywhere in Joomla as long as it supports entering html code.

I wanted a field that will allow to enter any custom html code so I could ad this during the registration process.

I think this will be really helpful not just for this scenario but for any other custom html code that anyone want to ad as a field during the registration process.

I know it will probably be kind of stupid to have another field asking for an email address so may be in the future will be nice to have some kind of integration that will give us a check box that will say subscribe to our newsletter and will tied to the mail-chimp campaign.

Hm, do you mean you want to display a form? If you need to display a form, you definitely need a field app. What I have in mind with the mail chimp app is to perform the following.

1. Display a checkbox during registration that says [ ] Receive site's newsletter.
2. Upon checking and saving the form, the field app will perform a ping to mailchimp's API server to store this new user's details.
