How to translate gender

I can't find in translation file gender values (female and male). Also in backend applications or profile fields do not see these values. Could you please tell me how to translate it?

Sorry for the late reply. Please go to the file

JOOMLA/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.plg_fields_user_gender.ini

and change the codes for all the Male and Female here Hope this helps.

Thank you, this helped in most cases. It's strange that in My Profile view next to profile picture and gender icon I was able to translate it only after translating it in media/apps/fields/user/gender/themes/default/widgets/display.php.

Sorry for the late reply. Missed out your post here. Anyway the Apps and Fields are totally different thing and thus have different language files. Hope this helps.
