You can actually limit the minimum requirement age in the custom field settings as shown in my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/sIWhpQvrGkY . Regarding the translations of the months, unfortunately these are not change-able currently as they are language files from the javascript file.

By the way, it's advisable that you create a separate forum threads for each of your issues as this would allow us to easily monitor all your threads and it would be easier for you to follow up on your issues as well The rule of thumb here is to keep your post simple so that it's easier for us to read through your issues as well.
