Do make sure that you have enabled the Vanilla Submenu Module in Backend > Modules and have 'sub-menu' in the Layout in vanilla template setting. (Kindly refer the screenshot)

If the issue still persists, it would be the best that you can include your site's access and FTP's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so that we can have a further checking and troubleshooting if needed.

Thanks Irwin I actually meant the toolbar buttons. However, I have since figured out how to activate them.

Are you referring to the filters shown here, http://take.ms/zUdgW ? This is actually generated from the search module. Are you using the EasySocial search module in that position?

Yes, those are the filters that I was referring to, and yes, I am using the EasySocial search module in the "search" position. However, it does not display the filter icon located at the right of the search box.

I ended-up deleting and re-installing the template. After creating a Smart Search Index, all seems to be working as expected.
