Thank you for your reply. I've worked around this issue using Assign plan app and plan relationship options. But I've got two more questions now.

1. Is it possible to hide free invoices (make them invisible in user's order history)?
2. Is it possible to hide some modules for subscribed users, leaving them visible for unsubscribed users?

You can use Skip Free Invoice plugin, which will hide the invoice checkout page only invoice thanks page will shown.

You can Show module on the basis of subscription using Payplans Module Access app. There is no functionality to hide plans as per subscriptions.

This does not solve my problem. Does 'Payplans content hider' plugin work only with articles? Can I use it also to hide some content in custom modules?

Payplans content hider plugin will work for joomla articles only.
it will not work for custom modules.
