Hi guys,

I’ve just upgraded from an older version of EasyDiscuss and things have changed a bit.

Before the ‘EasyDiscuss - Recent Replies module’ was showing the avatar of the Last Replied user, now it is showing the avatar of the forum creator.

How can I change it back so it uses the avatar of the Last Replied user?

Many thanks,

Paul Franklin
Perfect, thanks for your great support and a very Merry Christmas to you all at Stack Ideas from the Ark team.

If I wasn’t on the JED team I’d write a shining review! As I can’t, maybe someone else reading this post, who also has received great service from Stack Ideas, could take up the mantel.

Bless you,

Paul Franklin

Hello Paul,

How's it going? It's been a while and hope that everything is working out for you. If I recall correctly, this could be a bug which we have already fixed internally. Could you try downloading the attached file and overwrite the file /modules/mod_easydiscuss_recentreplies/helper.php

If the problem still persists, could you provide us with your ftp access so that I can take a look into this?

Hi Mark,

Very well thanks and a very Merry Christmas to you and your team.

I tried the file but didn’t have much luck with it, so I’ve given you admin and ftp access to our staging site which you can play around with.

If you need anything else please let me know?

Many thanks,

Paul Franklin

Also, sorry to bother you with another issue but it would appear that the upgrade as cause a JSON error with the user ‘joris85’. Any ideas and feedback on that account would be appreciated.

Hello Paul,

Can you give this a try again? I have applied some fixes on the same helper.php file in /modules/mod_easydiscuss_recenreplies/helper.php . It seems like the behavior of this module has now switched to display the post author's avatar.

By the way, where are you seeing those json errors?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for that and I will give it a go!

The JSON errors are found by going to Extensions > EasyDiscuss > Users > and filter for and edit “joris85” for an example.

Hey Paul,

Try copy this file -> JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easydiscuss/views/user/view.html.php from your site then move into live site.

Thanks for updating and I am glad that your issues are resolved now!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your team too! By the way, which part of UK are you located? I am planning to visit my relative in UK next year and certainly would want to find you for a cuppa tea
