Hi,

I am trying to style my easydiscuss to look like yours. I want it to open the front page in the same style as yours. When I select the front page layout as the forum menu link it always shows the 'recent' page and not the forums page. Also, how do we get last replied by etc. to show up in the post listings like yours does?

I have tried all the different themes but none are like yours, and all I see in my forum view is the post title and no avatar etc.

I selected the Categories view as menu link too, but it literally just displays the category titles as links - like in attached image.

Kind regards

Mel

I think you should create a new menu item "forum layout" from your backend, when the user click on this forum menu item on your frontend, it will redirect to this forum page.
Regarding that "last replied by etc" and that forum avatar is actually customised from our designer.

Are you referring this category link on our forums? https://stackideas.com/forums/announcements
If yes, this one we actually called it forum category view, if you would like to show this, you have to click on that category link from the forum view, you can check my screenshot here : http://take.ms/AD6eV

Hope this help.

Hi Arlex,

thank you!

I had tried the forums layout previously but thought I could only select one category. There is no explanation to say that if you don't select a category it will display all categories, and because it is a dropdown you are led to believe that one must be selected (at least in my case that is). I have just created the new link (without selecting a specific category) and now it looks great.

No problem ref the same style as yours, however it would be great in the future if we had a theme option like that too

Thanks again for your fast response.

You are most welcome Mel and Thanks for your input on this. I wish Joomla has an API that allows us to show an * if it is required but it seems like regardless if we set the field as required or not, it still doesn't show those
