Hello

When a user wants to subscribe, it is mandatory to fill the 'name' field.

How can I set this field 'optional' ?

TIA
Henri
Hi there,

May i know which components are you referring to? Is it both Easyblog and Easydiscuss? If yes, it not possible to achieve this as it is required for you to enter your name in order to subscribes.

It would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this issues by creating a new ticket on the forums and set it to "Feature Request", so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.

Maybe i have referred to different components, it would be best if you can describe more details for better understanding. Please advice.

Hi Warith

Quite simple : today, when a member wants to register to our website (whatever the component), he has to fill his name.

For privacy concern, some of our members do not want that their name becomes visible even for visitors (not members)

I see 2 options:
- the field 'name' in the registration form move from "mandatory" to "optional"
- or we can not change it and the field 'name' is visible only for the registered member, not for the visitors

Is it clearer?

Hi there,

Oh, sorry for my confusion on previous reply. By the way, may i know which component are you using for your user' registrations? For registrations, using Easysocial, you need to edit your workflows, as shown http://take.ms/FI2Et.

Please advice.
