My streams on the social network pages are displaying a bunch of style code that must be coming out of Microsoft Word. I am using the text editor for EasyBlog. Previously I would use a text editor from JCE. That editor has an option to paste text into a text only field and it then strips out any garbage caused by Microsoft and other funky editors. Unfortunately it appears that if one of my bloggers writes in Word and pastes the content in then all of the Word formatting will end up in the document. I am wondering you have a good way for me to clean this out from within my blogs aside from re-creating each of these blogs. Or is there a way that I could see the code and then strip this garbage out.

You can see these posts with the css garbage displaying at my social media feeds page at https://www.drcarney.com/club

Here is an example of the garbage:

Hi Sean,

I've replicate this issue locally, seems like as I try to copy text from microsoft word into the heading block it will shows the garbage text, where it doesn't seems to be happened as I only copy the text into text block. I've logged this issue in our issue tracker and our developers will take an action for this.

Thanks for your understanding Sean

hmm is this also the case when you use EB Feedimporter where it seems that you can get a lot of imported "garbage" text/settings from the imported text? I see one issue I tested with Feedimporter where the Feed importer set that you have to login to read the posts and seems that these settings config was also "transfered" to EB for some reason.

So when people also click on tags they get redirected to "Login" to the site even you have a general settings in EB that you dont need to login to read all posts.

Hi Stan,

Can you create a new ticket for it with the feed link that caused the issue, as well your backend and FTP access so we can troubleshoot the issue further?

Thanks for your cooperation

So, I guess for all my blogs that have the garbage text there is not much I can do but to recreate them. I will try that. Anyhow, I did test the Paste as plain text right mouse click option and that does seem to work.

I did go to one of the bad blogs and copy the text out of the blocks and then paste them into new blocks as text only and that works. It is a long work around but at least your software is not really broken although it might be nice to make publishers somehow understand better that they have an option to paste in formatting or an option to strip out formatting. :-)

Thanks Sean for your understanding, and as for now you can use that workaround, as I have already logged the issue for the heading block did not scrape the garbage text, our developers will take an action for that

Again, thanks for your cooperation and understanding Sean.
