Hello,

Today I ran into an issue and not sure how to go about it. The option to password protect posts is enabled on the site. This works fine as the posts are protected.

I am the super user on the site and can view the post just fine but my moderator cannot see the post as she does not have the key. How do I need to setup this user so she can also access the post and provide support to my customer?

Thank you.

RolandD
Hi Roland,

Currently only super users and the post author can view password protected posts without entering the password.

If you want to allow moderators(non super users) to view the post, you have to provide them the password for the post. The password is available in the EasyBlog's post table in the database.

Hello Raymond,

Thank you for confirming my suspicion. Could an option to allow an ACL setting to control this behavior added to your feature list?

Since you are already checking if a user is a Super User, shouldn't be too hard to check if someone has the correct ACL permission I think

Thank you.

I apologize Roland as I was looking at another extension(EasyBlog) instead of EasyDiscuss regarding the password protect feature.

To correct my response, for EasyDiscuss, super users, post's owner, and moderators should be able to view password protected posts.

May I know whether your moderator's user group is assigned as a moderator in the post's category(attached)?

Hello,

The moderator group is assigned to the category. Attached is a screenshot of the setting. The user is attached to that Moderator group.

Hey Roland,

I am not able to reproduce your issue, or maybe I'm not reproducing it correctly. Can you provide us the backend access to your site at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can investigate?

Thank you.
