Hi there,

How can I link to another EasyBlog post? I am struggling to find the URL, but even so I would think that is a cumbersome way of doing things.

If I select "preview" and the blog is set to Frontpage = no, the preview will not work.

How does everyone else achieve this? I think it's a fundamental requirement for any blog.
Hi there,

You can get a post's URL by opening it and copy the URL in the URL search bar as shown here http://screencast.com/t/4x8bNyraxN

You can also just right click on a post's title and save Link Location as shown here http://screencast.com/t/MexX6WHcP

Once you've got the URL, you can use the Links Block from the composer and insert the URL.

Take note that if the post is set to private (either by only allowing registered users to view or password protected), the post cannot be viewed.

Also, the preview function requires two things to function:

1) You must allow pop-up for your website first or it will not appear as shown here http://www3.govst.edu/webct/webct6/student/popups/step2.gif

2) You must log in from the front end first.

I hope this helps.

So when I'm in a Blog post, to link to another blog post I either need to come out of the blog post, go into another blog post, copy the alias, return to my original post and paste the link. And if I have multiple blog posts to link to, I need to do that each time. And if I want to link to a Joomla! article, I have to manually work out the URL each time, or a menu item the same.

This is really inefficient. There must be a better way. It would be good if we could use JCE within Composer. Or perhaps you could look at their coding and add some similar functionality?

Hey there,

You should use the "Add Post" menu from the composer toolbar. Take a look at my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/guWZBgLo1c

You can actually use JCE as your preferred editor rather than the new built in composer. This can be configured in Settings > General > Composer and choose JCE as your preferred editor over the standard built in editor.
