How can I set up Easyblog so the users are limited to publish items in their own category/blog?
Hello At StackIdeas,

This post is from 2013 - is there any new development on limit users access to categories?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your reply.

I found this old post from 2012 where you are pointing out a potential solution for what we would like to do. Unfortunately are you using an online screenshot which not is up any more;

Hello,

I am sorry if I am not getting you correctly but you can actually restrict the category access by assigning custom rights to the category. If you see my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/ROeFXcwxF . Once the acl is configured to the Assigned user group, you can then specify which user groups are allowed to post into the category.
http://stackideas.com/forums/how-to-limit-user-to-their-own-category-blog

If the above is possible we could set our memberships and hereby our ACL like you explain and by this limit access to categories for our members. Is this correct?

Do you have this screenshot?

Thanks,
...Finn

Hello Finn.

Yes, you can restrict the category access by assigning which user group can view the category blog and who can select the category during blog creation or edit in EasyBlog > Categories > [Choose the category] > Permissions tab. Then set Privacy as Assigned Joomla User Group. http://screencast.com/t/wHIzJzKfw

Hope this help
