I'm trying to control the number of characters a link submission fetches, when a user posts a internal URL link.

I've set the Application USER LINKS:
Truncate Content : Yes
Truncation Length: 15

But it does not have the affect on the length of content truncation.

This is for Internal Links, the content should be meta description if i'm not mistaken? but it takes the content of article instead of meta description.

can you please guide me on this, because my artile content is sourcerer code and this sourcerer code is showing in the links posted internally on the stream.

Hi Sunny,

You can try the following

Login to your backend->Applications->On the search type Links->Select User-Links

Please refer to the screenshot

In the links page, select->stream

In the stream->Truncate content set to Yes and Truncation Length set to number you want.

If the problem still persist my I know which article that you are trying to share so that I can try to replicate it in my local?

Hope that helps .

Best regards
Chris

Hi Christopher,

It has sorted out, i think it was a cache issue.

For new links its respecting the truncation, but for old urls already shared (if i try to re-share), its showing old meta without truncation
Is there anyway i can clear the meta description scraper cache. Because once its fetched i don't know how to clear it.

Hello Sunny,

I've tested in my local and the truncation also be applied to the old stream items. Can you provide us your backend and FTP access so we can have a better look on your issue here?
