Hi,

I'm pasting text from a Mac text editor into a text block in EasyBlog Composer. When I do this all the line endings disappear, so that what was originally many separate lines becomes a single paragraph. How can I prevent this?

I assume that the problem is that Composer expects both a carriage return and a line feed at the end of each line, as is done in Windows, and I only have line feeds at the end of my lines because I'm using a Mac. Seems that there should be some way for Composer to handle this - in fact it seems that it should be able to handle this by default.

I could find a utility that will convert my text files before I copy/paste their text, but I'd rather avoid this time-consuming step.

Thanks,

Douglas
Hello Douglas,

May I know where are you copying the source contents from? It's not really an issue with the line feed between Mac / Windows but rather, some software (especially Microsoft Office), uses proprietary codes. In other words, when you are typing in the respective software, it actually uses a different code representation rather than a proper line feed.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your response.

I've attached the file. I've tried opening it in both TextEdit and TextMate, then copying and pasting into an EasyBlog text block. In both cases I lose my line endings when I do this, even though these line endings display fine in both TextEdit and TextMate.

Hi Douglas,

I've make comparison(text block) latest version with older version (5.0.44) seems like older version has the line break if I copy out your content into. I've logged this issue in our issue tracker and our developers will take an action for this.

Thanks for your understanding Douglas
