I allow guest visitors to leave comments on my blog. If I reply to the original comment, currently there is no notification sent to the guest so he or she needs to check manually on the site if there is an answer.

Could you please tell me what settings I have check in order to enable email notification for unregistered visitors.
Thanks
Hello Kay,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as I was currently not available during the weekend as I was attending a Joomla conference in Thailand.

As long as the guest posts a valid e-mail address in the comment form, he / she would have gotten a notification via e-mail.

Unregistered user have to subscribe to the blog to be able to get notification through email, please set in backend > easyblog > notification > comments tab and set Notify subscribers on new comments to yes

I set all three to yes but an email notification on new comment is sent only to me as author and site admin.
Mark mentioned that all guests are notified if they leave a valid email address without having to subscribe. Sorry, I am a bit confused now.

I disabled all kinds of blog subscriptions in Workflow > Subscriptions years ago. Are guest notifications bound to these subscriptions?

Hello Kay,

I would need to take a look on the settings on your site to provide you with an accurate. Can you please provide us with the Joomla back end access as well as the FTP access so that I can check on the issues on your site? We actually need these information so that we can debug on your issues quickly.

Thanks:)

Hello Khairul,
I enabled them all and "Settings / Comments / General / Subscriptions checked by default" too. But there is no notification sent to guest users doesn't matter if I post another comment or a direct reply.

I then installed the EasyBlog Subscribe module and played around with it but it seems to work only in combination with site registration.

So I will give up and the few people posting a question via comment should check manually for updates. Maybe it's even better to do it that way because of the need for unsubscribing and legal issues when unsolicited mails are sent out triggered by spammers like seen in contact forms that allow sending a CC to the person contacting the web site. Spammers can then send their rubbish to their target lists via your server although you have nothing to do with them.

Anyway thanks a lot for your help, your support is awesome like always
