Hi,

When setting up a menuitem, to create article via com_easyarticle, and setting the default category to "XXX", then the user is "locked" to this category as well as subcategories - which is perfect for us.

However - when the same user then creates a new article via the dashboard, the user can then select freely between all categories on the entire site, which is not really great as all other content outside category "XXX", is off-limits for everybody else than Admin.

How do we change this? Can we lock the user to a specific category, when creating a post via the Dashboard, when we cant configure a default category on the menuitem for "Dashboard"?

Cheers
Hi there,

Currently, it is impossible to do that at this point of time.

We will see if we can do something about it.

I will log this into our issue tracker.

Hey there,

I am really sorry that it was my mistake.

Actually, it is possible to do that via the dashboard as shown in the screenshot. https://take.ms/RRJtu

Hi Irwin,

I appreciate you coming back to this post, and letting me know!
However - I have found the options you mention, and understand that it should be able to work as I hoped.

However - I think there is a bug or something, because when I select a number of usergroups in any of the 3 sections and then hit "Submit", it seems to not save the selected groups, but always revert to "Guest and Super Users". I've tried in both FF & Chrome, but with same result.

I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like, after submitting and going back in to the settings.

Cheers,

Hey there,

You're most welcome

It seems that I can replicate on which it will always have Super User selected together. I will log this into our issue tracker.
