Hi,
Can you tell me how I can use Easyblog to create an article that will not be visible on the blog, but will only be available if someone clicks a link from another article or blog post.

Thanks for your help.
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Unfortunately that is not possible to achieve this, if the user know what is that blog composer page URL, they can just paste the link on the browser, so they can able to access that blog composer page.

If you target for the new user, then you have to put the blog composer menu only appear on the specific article page.

Unfortunately I don't think I made my question clear. This is the equivalent of creating a hidden menu item in joomla and has nothing to do with a user composing blogs.

I could create a joomla article and assign it to a hidden menu so that only someone with the link can find it.

I'm asking how to do that with an easyblog article. I want to create it in Easyblog vs Joomla articles because I can do more with the content in Easyblog, but I don't want it to be listed on the frontpage, or be found in one of the existing articles. I just want to provide a link to people that when they click on it they go to the page on my site where they can read the article.

I hope that makes my question clearer.

Thanks.

Hey there,

Can you check my following description and see if I understand your current question correctly?

1. You create a few articles but you do not want these articles show on the blog listing page.

2. They only can access it when I share the link to them.

If that is the case, I would like to ask that blog listing page also will be hidden? Or are you planning to show other articles?

Actually you can create single post menu for Easyblog (screenshot : http://take.ms/NPkhd) so you can set which article you would like to show in this menu.

Hi Arlex,
You are correct in your two points. Right now I'm only thinking of one article but I may want to do more. My confusion is what category to assign the blog to, as I want every category to show all of the posts belonging to that category, when someone clicks on a category link.

It's just this one post that I don't want to be included.

How exactly do I do that?

Hey Peter,

Currently we do not have setting to allow admin to exclude certain article from the single category page.

But if your site only have 2 bloggers (UserA and UserB), then you can achieve this using this following method :

1. UserA created those new blog post, everyone can see it on the single category page.

2. Only UserB created those blog post, will not show on the single category page.

3. In order to achieve this, you have to create single category menu item for Easyblog, then set the category and set the author to UserA (screenshot : http://take.ms/6G6ds), so when the user view on this single category page, it will only show all the blog post created by UserA only.
