I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

By default, if you set one of your post as `Feature`, then it will show on Easyblog frontpage exactly same as what you see on our demo site.

We also have a slider module available in Easyblog called `Easyblog showcase module` , you can find this module from backend > extension > module manager > search `showcase`

You can disable that image placeholder from backend > Easyblog > settings > layout > post options tab > Show Post Image Placeholder - NO

Then configure display video block on your listing page from backend > Easyblog > settings > layout > truncation tab > Position of videos after truncation - select top position
