Hello.
My site exclusively focuses on the functionality related to events with Easysocial. In this context, I will propose a number of different categories of events. I'll have to create 11 categories which have to be carried out on almost the same pattern, with some differences! Now, I want to know how to duplicate a category (ID23) 11 times and then can return to edit it. A bit like K2 that can duplicate an existing article.
If I can not find replication solution, this will be very tedious for me ....
Hello Lumbroso.

For the custom field data, It will stored in the different table.

First you need to copy data in #_social_fields_steps to display this in your custom field tabs. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-19_1459.png
When copy the data into this table. Please make sure the uid is equal to id for the categories in #_social_clusters_categories. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-19_1500.png

For example, my batman category id is 11. Then my uid for data in #__social_fields_steps is equal to 11. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-19_1503.png

After that, you need to copy the data in #_social_fields to display this in your custom field tabs. http://stackideas.com/forums/how-to-duplicate-a-category
When copy the into this table. Please make sure the step_ id is equal to the id in #_social_fields_steps http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-19_1512.png

For example, the id in my #_social_fields_steps is 16, then the step_id in my #_social_fields is equal to 16. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-19_1514.png

Here is the result from this toturial. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-19_1514.png

Hope this help and I am really sorry for the late reply.

I've been wanting this too. As far as I know, you'll need to manually clone it in the database. If it doesn't already exist and you make the request on http://stackideas.com/voices I'll gladly upvote it.

Hello Lumbroso.

First you need to search this table #_social_clusters_categories. Then choose which category you want to copy and click on copy button. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-16_1736.png

After that you can change the title, alias and description. Please make sure this option is Insert as new row http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-16_1737.png. Then click on go button

Hope this help

I'm not at a PC to test, but try clearing Joomla's cache. I know there's caching within ES for apps, but I don't know if rebuilding for that will fix it. You could also try adding and deleting a temp category to see if that'll update it.

I was able to clone a category with success. When you copied the entry, did you +1 the ordering field? If they're both trying to be called with the same order number, the category with the smaller ID may be overriding the copied category.

Hello and thank you for your help.
Unfortunately, I have done exactly like that but it does not work, the category appears in the list but when I want to change it, there is no field content!

While you wait for SI to reply, if you'd like, email me access to Joomla's backend and access to cPanel or whatever is used to access the database to:
david@affinitypixel.com

I used to do level 1 tech support for HostGator and would be happy to try and help.

Hello. Finally, copy the database in all fields of the category. No time gained because it is just as long as creating a new category.
But thank you for your help
