There are no settings to move the placeholder. You would have to template override the login theme file here(http://take.ms/atLz3, http://take.ms/uJejUU).

After removing the original placeholder codes, it should look like this: http://take.ms/lzXGz

Thanks. I'm surprised no one else has asked for this option as there does always seem to be design guides that tell you it's bad to have the text in the field box and then others that suggest it for minimal design - so no one ever agrees!

For your info, I eventually worked out what you meant but your explanation was a bit confusing as you had already moved things about in the screen shot and had duplicates, so perhaps if you had just show the final result in the screen shot it would have been clearer? Anyway I've done as you said and it works for us, thanks.
