Hi
We got the show preview comments in the layout/category and layout/listing set to yes.
It just won't display in the categories or listing pages. Only on the full blog/detail. ?
There's no CSS overrides that where added for this either

Thanks
Danny
Hi Danny,
Can you add your site's access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can troubleshoot this.
Depending on which comment system is used, if you use a multiple comment system for example Komento and built in comments, it will show comment preview from Komento only.
Once you provided access let us know.

Done
I use EasyBlog's comments, Komento's comments, Social integration ...
I will need to close Komento if it limits the previews of comments.
Thanks
Danny

Hi Danny,
Here's what I found out:
1. Comments preview will not show guest comments.
2. Comments preview will not show built in comments if other comment plugins are enabled. e.g Komento, EasySocial, Facebook comments etc.
3. Comments preview will prioritize to show Komento comments only even if you have Komento enabled among a few comment plugins.
Hope this information helps.

Oh ! that's not good ..

OK so first off; thanks for you reply/help, I do appreciate it!

That being said, I think StackIdea should quickly resolve this as a lacking functionality! At the very least, support your own commenting platforms together; EasyBlog + EasySocial + Komento or at minimaly EasyBlog + EasySocial which are native to you.

Hey Danny,
By default the preview comments will not display guest comments only registered users comments. You can head to this file JoomlaFolder\administrator\components\com_easyblog\models\blog.php and search for the function getBlogComment and look at the sql $query codes to see how this works.

On the other hand, thanks for your input on the topic. We will see if we can improve the functionality of previewing comments in future versions.
