Hi dear support team,
I'm new to EasyBlog and I'm struggling with the cover images. I can't configure EasyBlog to display the cover images correctly. The always are cropped in an ugly way.

1) There are settings for 3 different layouts. From your documentation I can't see which layout is used where. Can you give me some explanations to this, please?

2) I played around with all the settings of all the 3 layouts, but regardless what I change, the display of the cover images stay the same, absolutely no difference. What am I doing wrong?

I guess, I just don't understand how this is working. Please help.

Thank you so much in advance.

Best reagrds,
Michael
Hi Michael,

I am not able to access the site(http://take.ms/MysXl) probably due to some restriction in place. Please advice.

This is our current office IP from Malaysia in case you need it: 175.139.129.10

Can you also provide us your backend and ftp access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so I can take a look at your configuration and see what works best for you?

Hello Raymond,
Thank you for getting back to me. I've provided the admin login to the backend of the site via the link you sent me.
Basically, I would be happy, If I could understand exactly what is going on and how the Post Cover images are resized, especially if you could answer the questions of my original post.

Thank you very much
Best regards,
Michael

I additionally set the IP address you mentioned on the WhiteList, so it's important to try from this IP address, otherwise GeoBlocking would lock you out

Hey Michael,

Our IP has changed to the following: 219.92.68.243

1) Here is a screenshot to better explain the settings(http://take.ms/ms8AT). Listing layout basically means those layout that has a list of blog posts. This can mean the frontpage layout, single category listing, single author listing etc.

Showcase layout means those small area/slider on top that shows a couple of posts, this can be in the frontpage, grid layout, magazine layout etc.

Entry layout is the entry page of the blog post where the full content is(http://take.ms/dVUjm).

2) There is no setting to change this but you can try using custom css to override the styling.

#eb .eb-blog-grid-image {
background-size: contain;
}
You can apply the custom css here: http://take.ms/juHaUl

Hello Raymond,

Thanks for the info so far. Iv'e additionally added the new IP address to the WhiteList and excluded Malasia from GeoBlocking, so you can give it a new try. Probably you have to try more than once because something in the authentication process is wrong and it only works on the 2nd or 3rd try.

Thank you for your help and best regards
Michael

Hey Michael,

I have checked your site and for the grid view, if you do not want to images cropped, you would have to use the custom css as I suggested earlier.

This means it will show the full image but will have empty spaces as well since it has to maintain the width/height ratio of the image(http://take.ms/9ruTO).

The reason the original styling was used is so that the image can cover the whole area.
