We do not want guests to be able to post comments. We want them to be able to read them.

I've looked at the settings in integration and can't find anything.

At the moment, this is a temporary site. I will be migrating it to another (hopefully tomorrow).

An early response would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Mick

Hi,

I've changed the views of the comments so they don't appear until the reader clicks the read more button - thanks.

Unfortunately, permissions don't seem to make any difference to posting comments. I'm not logged in and I can still comment. I've been through all the different registered levels and set them and can't figure out where its going wrong.

Thanks

Hello Mick,

I've fixed it for you. This issue is came from Joomla 3.2 where the guest Id is set to other id. You need to re-save the option in user manager. Hope this helps.

Does that mean every time a user registers, we have to re-save the option in the user manager?

Hello Mick,

You just need to do this once as this is actually a known bug in Joomla 3.2

Hi, I want to be able to do the same as Mick, I want anyone to be able to view existing comments but they must be a registered user in order to post a comment. Could you please tell me how to do this as well?

Is this controlled by plugin settings (if so which one) - I have three - user, system and content, but none refer to just being able to 'view' comments. Right now I have these set to 'registered' users so that only registered members can view and or posts. But I want EVERYONE to be able to view comments. Is there a setting somewhere in the Component options?

Hello Donna,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. You don't control them in the plugin but instead you control them in the component settings. You just need to head on to the ACL area at the back end of Komento and configure the permissions for the respective component.
