I'm using Easydiscuss. I do not want to show the "search bar" in toolbar section on any page except a page especially meant for search.
When I try to create a menu for creating this page, there is no such menutype like "Search layout", so I can not create a page like that.

How do I do it?
Hello Pawan,

Sorry for the late reply. Please add these file to the folder

JOOMLA/components/com_easydiscuss/views/search/tmpl/

Then add these to your language file

COM_EASYDISCUSS_MENU_SEARCH_LAYOUT="Search Layout"
COM_EASYDISCUSS_MENU_SEARCH_LAYOUT_DESC="Display a search page."

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Sorry, it didn't work.
I downloaded both attachments and kept these two files in the folder you suggested.

Then I added the language files codes to the language file in administrator folder. It didn't work.
I also tried pasting the language codes in all language files of ED component. It didn't work.
I do not see it in the list of menutypes, which creating a menu.

Which language file specifically is used here. (i think it should be in administrator).

Can you help please.

Hello Pawan,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I missed a step. You will need to rename the file

JOOMLA/components/com_easydiscuss/views/search/metadata.xml

I have done this for you and the menu type now appears Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Yes it is working now.

But please make following two things clear:

1. You mean "JOOMLA/components/com_easydiscuss/views/search/metadata.xml" needs to be renamed to something unuseful, as you have renamed it to 'metadata.xml.old'

2. Which language file is to be changed.

Hello Pawan,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Please change the language file in

JOOMLA/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easyblog.ini

as for the metadata.xml yes you need to rename that so that Joomla won't skip the search view when displaying menu types. Hope this helps.

Thanks!
