Hi,

I am trying to create a complete hidden menu for EasyDiscuss so that I have better URLs, better breadcrumbs, and I am able to assign different modules to different pages..

I have tried to set up my own hidden menu but there appears to be duplicate urls and badly formed urls and badly formed breadcrumbs..

Can you please post a recommended hidden menu that represents the entire EasyDiscuss component along with 2 example main categories and 2 example sub categories (within those main categories). I think this would be beneficial for all of your customers.

Rene
I am not too sure why is a hidden menu necessary for the site eh? Can you please elaborate more on what you are trying to setup here?

Also, please set the domains for all of your license as you will not be able to post new questions on our forums after this week as a restriction will be in place.

Hi Mark,

I have not set the domain because it says that if it is a test domain or a staging domain, then it is not necessary.

I want to have a hidden menu... is this impossible to do with your products.

Note that I want to set up a hidden menu so that I can provide my own navigation.. my own category navigation.. and place different modules on different pages... for instance, I want one module on the notifications page and I want a completely different module on the conversations page. I cannot do this without creating a menu. So I did create a menu but the urls and breadcrumbs are not properly formed like EasyDiscuss 3.x. There are also different urls that lead to the same page. I have spent a long time on this.. and I still cannot get it to work satisfactorily.. so that is why I asked for the correct structure to use to create menus to duplicate all of the functionality in EasyDiscuss..

Just for an example of this - Kunena comes with a hidden menu by default.

Hey Rene,

I don't see why you can't add this. Go to your menu manager and create a menu in Joomla. Then, do not assign any menu module to this menu. After that, create the menu items in that new menu which links to different views of EasyDiscuss.

By the way, you will now need to set a domain for your licenses regardless if it is a test site or not. Kindly please do add your domains for your licenses at http://stackideas.com/dashboard

Hi Mark,

What you suggested is what I already did. But the menu structure seems different from the component for some of the links.. This is really difficult to describe here... which is why I wanted you guys to provide an official menu for EasyDiscuss or at least provide a suggested menu structure.

One alternative is for me to get a plugin like sh404sef so that I can create canonical links for EasyDiscuss.

Thanks,

Rene

hey Rene,

Currently we do not have any plan for this.

By the way, can you share with us how your current menu structure look like? Perhaps you can provide us some screenshot regarding this so that we can better have a look and see whether we can provide better suggestion on this?

And which URL format you prefer?

For example : http://site.com/discussion/categoryAlias/discussionTitleAlias
