Hi,

I just installed the software and after posting my first blog, I noticed that I need to change the default Blog URL.

Here's the current URL:
http://www.simplyadditions.com/EasyBlog/entry/christmas-gift-guide-for-men-manly-gifts-for-the-guys-in-your-life.html

I would like to change this so this blog posting looks like this instead:
http://www.simplyadditions.com/blog/"CategoryTitle"/christmas-gift-guide-for-men-manly-gifts-for-the-guys-in-your-life.html

I'm using ACESEF and J2.5.

Thank you
Hello Voitek,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
You can configure the Easyblog URL from your backend > Easyblog > Setting > SEO ( http://screencast.com/t/ViwHXFtpT ), after you set this you should go to your ACESEF component delete all the SEF of Easyblog, then clear your Joomla cache and browser cache and see how it goes? If your expected that URL didn't show right, could you mind provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this issues ? Please advise.

Hi, I did play around with that but what I really want to change is to go from "EasyBlog" in the url to just "blog". This is not mentioned in the SEO section in EasyBlog.

Also how do I get alerted to these replies? I didn't receive an email when you replied to this forum post.

Sincerely Voitek

Hello Voitek,

I hope I get you right here, is easyblog what is displayed in the URL of your menu item? You could change this by changing the permalink/alias near the title in your menu.
If you leave this blank, it will auto generate from your title.

If you need further assistance please provide us with your backend and FTP so we could do the settings for you.

`Thanks:)

Hi,

Unfortunately the Menu Title is "Blog" and the Alias is "blog".
To try your suggestion I created an entirely new menu item using this procedure in Joomla 2.5

Add New Menu Item
Menu Item Type: EasyBlog>Frontpage Blog Layout
Menu Title: Blogger
Alias: blogger

result
http://www.SimplyAdditions.com/EasyBlog Still

Instead of
http://www.SimplyAdditions.com/blogger

Am I making the menu item incorrect somehow? After I hit menu item, I simply navigate to where it says EasyBlog and select the layout I want to display. Is there a different way to point to the blog?

Here's a Snapshot of the current menu item:

Here's the EasyBlog SEO Configuration Screen

Here's the EasyBlog SEO Configuration Advanced Screen

I'm sure I have something setup wrong, please let me know if you see it in the attachments

Sincerely,
Voitek

Hello Voitek,

There might be a couple of reason why this is occurring, without access it will be harder to identify. Using my localhost everything works fine with the settings your provide and i can change the alias easily. Do you have cache component installed? clearing them might help. Are you using the default joomla .htaccess file on your root, please advice? Is it the correct menu Item you had set in your main menu?

Thanks:)

Hi,

I turned off every cache extension then created a new menu item called "blogy" with "blogy" as alias to point to the EasyBlog Frontpage. Result was that "EasyBlog" remains in the URL. I have taken snapshots of the steps I took and I have attached my htaccess file. Hopefully we'll wrap this up soon.

I'm running
Joomla 2.5.17
RSFirewall
JCH Optimize as cache when enabled
and Global Settings Cache set to conservative when enabled

My only problem with EasyBlog so far is that I cannot change the url to say just "blog" instead of "EasyBlog" then the content names.

I need this solved because it leaves open a security risk that I really don't want.

Sincerely,
Voitek

Hello Voitek,

Please send me your backend and FTP access to check this out. Also please permit me to delete the existing EasyBlog URL to let the component regenerate them. Please advice.

Thanks!

Hi Adelene,

I'm not comfortable giving super user access to anyone, so I kept digging and fixed the problem on my own.
