Hi,

I have just bought EasySocial and am currently trying to tweak it to our needs.

I have added a few members, and have added a menu item to show all users (index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=users&filter=all)

The basic layout a visitor gets to see (I am using the frosty template) is
- a blue toolbar with an login item and a search possibility
- a left sidebar with currently two blocks, one to filter users (all, with photo or online) and one to filter by profile type
- and a main section with the users

I want to achieve three things, and am looking for the best way to achieve this:

1. Remove the blue toolbar. I could hide by css, but maybe there is a better way;

2. Remove the left sidebar. Again... I could probably hide, but I want full width layout for my list of users;

3. I want to change some bits on what is shown from the users.
Currently, with my settings, I see the profile picture and name (that's fine);
a row with info: how many friends, male/female, date member, last login... That row can go.... again, I can use hide in css, but maybe that is not the best way?

Also, I want to add some profile fields, like address, phone-number, email, and maybe one or two custom fields I have added to my profile type.

What is the best way to go?

kind regards,

Corine
Hey Corine,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Please find the response to your inquiries below:

1. Remove the blue toolbar. I could hide by css, but maybe there is a better way;

Go to the Themes section at the back end of EasySocial and click on the "Frosty" theme. Then, click on the "Toolbar" tab and disable the option "Show Toolbar"

2. Remove the left sidebar. Again... I could probably hide, but I want full width layout for my list of users;

Currently there is no way to turn this off in the settings and it would be best to do this with css.

3. I want to change some bits on what is shown from the users.
Currently, with my settings, I see the profile picture and name (that's fine);
a row with info: how many friends, male/female, date member, last login... That row can go.... again, I can use hide in css, but maybe that is not the best way?
Also, I want to add some profile fields, like address, phone-number, email, and maybe one or two custom fields I have added to my profile type.

You can customize the theme file located in the following location:

/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/users/default.php (Wrapper for the user listings)
/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/users/default.list.php (This is iterated from default.php and it represents each user record)

By the way, I also noticed that your license for EasyBlog has already expired, since we are running the promo at http://stackideas.com/blog/happy-labor-day-from-all-of-us , perhaps you might want to get hold of this?

Hey, Mark,

I totally did not expect an answer today, since it is Sunday.

anyway thanks for your quick answer.

Regarding the theme files mentioned in no. 3; am I not making it hard to update if I make changes there? Is there a way to do template overrides?

Then, about the EasyBlog comment.... yeah, and I so overlooked the discount when I ordered EasySocial.... so I hope you can do a refund there ;-)

anyway, I was emailing with you guys from outside the forum, about a comibanation of all four products (EasySocial, Blog, Discuss and kommento) and asked if I could start with EasySocial to see if it met my demands, and you promised there you would help me with upgrade to the combi package.

So hopefully that offer still stands;

Corine

Hello Corine,

- You can follow this documentation for template override. http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/customizations/template-overridden

Then, about the EasyBlog comment.... yeah, and I so overlooked the discount when I ordered EasySocial.... so I hope you can do a refund there.
- I will forward this to our marketing department and see how it goes.

Hi Corine,

So sorry for the late reply, regarding the refund on the discount that you've missed. Unfortunately, we aren't able to do so. However, we could offer you a special discount especially for you on your EasyBlog, as it appears to be expired currently, how about it? Kindly post a ticket at our helpdesk via https://crm.stackideas.com, we could discuss further there.
