I have recently registered with Google AdSense with the hope I could monetize on my blog.
I have been instructed by Google to add a small script between the <head> and </head> tags of the particular pages on which I want the Google ads to appear.
How can I do that?
Hi IOANNIS,

There should be a Google Adsense in EasyBlog integrations where you can configure adsense. http://take.ms/4RqDK

Let us know if you have difficulties setting it up.

Thank you very much for the quick reply!
Yes. I see a tab labeled Adsense in EasyBlog integrations, but when I select it, only an empty grey area appears underneath it.
Do I need to install or activate anything?

When I select the other tabs (EasyDiscuss, EasySocial, Emotify, etc) then normal contents appear, similar to the image you sent me.

You're most welcome IOANNIS.

Are you using Firefox currently? I believe the tab content is not showing in Firefox for some reason.

Can you try opening it on Chrome and see how it goes?

I found the problem!
I paused the adblocker (chrome add-on) and then everything appeared!
A bit strange though that it is affected by the adblocker.

Hey IOANNIS,

Thanks for finding out the problem. It seems that adblock is detecting that we have an id="adsense" and hiding its html content.

I will log this in our tracker so we can change the id to avoid detection from the adblock related addons.

That's great.
By the way, let me mention two more smaller issues that in my view need to be tracked.
1) Adding a gif file in a post through the image insertion does not work as expected. The gif appears static and not animated as expected.
2) Opening a support ticket at this site here with a title that includes tags enclosed in angular brackets (such as <head>) results in a published title with the tags silently removed. This is what happened with the title of the current thread too. The correct behavior should be the issuance of a message that alerts the user to remove the tags from the title.

Hey IOANNIS,

1) May I know how are you adding images? Do you mean through EasyBlog's image block? Only original GIF size variation will have the animation retained, the other size variation are just static images.

2) I believe the current behavior is still the safest to prevent code injection attempts. If we show a message, the user will lose the content that was created since the page is already refreshed.

Hi Raymond,

1) I have just now added at the bottom of my blog page https://blog.deriscope.com/index.php/en/introduction-deriscope-5-excel-live-feeds using the EasyBlog's image block the attached gif file cover.gif. If you visit that page and hover the mouse above the image you will see it is indeed a gif. Unfortunately it is rendered static. Only if you click on it, then it is rendered as animation. The latter is probably due to having set the Image Link option to Display Popup (Original Version). It is also worth to note that the same gif image is used as cover image for this post and although it is displayed static when one is inside the post, it is properly rendered as animation when one views the post summary in the list of all posts.

2) I leave this up to you as I am not a technical expert on this topic. I have only mentioned it because as a naive user was surprised that my original title had the words <head> and </head> missing after it was published. Not so bad for me as it really affects others, namely other EasyBlog users who search for the related topic through the forum. One possible solution could be to apply on titles the same type of text transformation you apply on the main text, which is basically the standard replacement of special html symbols - such as angular brackets - with their equivalent escape codes. The latter is I believe the reason you can now read the two words <head> and </head> entered above.

Hey IOANNIS,

1) As mentioned in my previous reply, to view the animation in gif files, you would have to render the original file and not the resized ones.

This means that the cover image has to render the original size. Based on what I checked, your current setting sets it to large whereas the ones in listing is set to original, which is why they are animated in the listing(http://take.ms/xgm21).

The same goes to those in the image block. You would have to use the original size image to render the animation(http://take.ms/dgM4Gx).

2) Thanks for your feedback. We will look into it.

Hey IOANNIS,

Just want to inform you that after discussing with the devs regarding the removal of content in code tags like <xyz>, Joomla actually has the same behavior(removing the content) for article titles, and this is also for the same reason of preserving the security of form submissions.

It is just not possible to retain the content, imagine that these contents contain layers of codes that are aimed to hack the site, retaining them would expose risk the site. Furthermore, if the tags are not closed, it could also bring forth other security issues. Therefore, allowing the contents to remain will exponentially increase the risk of security threats, which is the last thing we would want for site owners.
