I have a support user and a registered user.
I only wan the support user to be able to reply to the registered user but all users can reply to all questions. I don't want other users to be able to reply. They can read the thread but not reply.
Hello Ed,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
What do you mean that "I don't want other users to be able to reply" (registered group or guest group?)? Please advise.

Hi Arlex,

I think Ed means, for example, if this thread was on his site, the only people who could post in it would be Ed (as the registered user who opened the thread by asking the question) and you (as the support user who answered the question).

It would mean (continuing the example) I, as another registered user, would not be allowed to post in this thread (if it were on his site).

So basically the default behavior of easy discuss is that if someone asks a question anybody can chime in and post.

I'm trying to make it more like "Ask an Expert", where only the person who created the initial post can respond and a designated "Expert" can respond. So other people cant highjack the thread.

Is this possible?

Similar to a support ticketing system only the person who opens a ticket can reply to their own thread but can read all of the threads.

Hello Ed,

Sorry for misunderstanding on your first post, do you mean that do not let reply when the guest view your question post right ? See my screenshot :
If yes, you can set it from your backend > Easydiscuss > Setting > categories > permission tab > Who can reply discussion in this category
>> http://screencast.com/t/qa9YakfcUNY
If no, can you provide some screenshots make your requirement more clearly? Please advise.

Hello Ed,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Question 1 :
Is it the user2 is under registered group? If yes, read the Question 2.

Question 2 :
When user1 post a new thread, you only allow user 1 and support and any moderator to reply on this post right?
>> Unfortunately it is not possible to set if the user1 is under registered user. Because when you set it from ACL - Registered group "Add new reply" -> Disabled, mean all the user under the registered group also can't reply on post thread and including themselves personal post.
Hope you understand.

Hello Ed,

You're welcome. In your case you can set it temporary the reply under moderation when the user reply on the thread. I'm sorry we could not be of much help here, i will send this in our request feature list in EasyDiscuss and see how it goes.
