I have a facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/vmsworldwide - which I would like to be able to post blogs too from easyblog. I have had no success in setting this up. The docs you have seem to suggest posting as a person not as a page so i'm a bit lost. I don't seem to have a user account associated with the above page, just a login of username and password.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Regards
Dave
Hello David Collerton,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Did you follow this 2 documentation?
http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/autoposting/facebook-new-ui
http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/autoposting/setting-up-autoposting-with-facebook (Start at STEP 8)
If you need further assistance, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and Facebook access so we can help you configure with this? Please advise.

Hi Arlex

Thanks for making contact. Yes, I have tried following the documentation. I hit an error when trying to validate my facebook profile. I think the problem is

Please take note that you are only allowed to create applications using your profile account. Other account types are not allowed to create applications on Facebook.

I am trying to post to a facebook page which is not associated with a profile. I assume that this is likely to be a problem. Is this assumption correct?

Regards
Dave

Hello David Collerton,

Do you mean that you would like to autopost to your Facebook Page and your Facebook profile page right?
If yes, you have to configure in your backend > Easyblog > blogger > select your user account > Facebook integration > Sign in with Facebook.

If you can provide us with your Facebook access and Joomla backend, so we can help you setup with this quickly.

Hi Arlex

I have transferred ownership of my page vmsworldwide to myself (it now appears in my facebook account) and I have tried to go through the setup process again. However, when I get to Step 2 Sign in with Facebook I just get the following error

Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains.

I am unable to get any further.

I have given you the information you need to access my admin and facebook accounts. If you can help me I would be grateful.

Regards
Dave

Hello David,

I have tried to access in your Facebook, but i getting this : http://screencast.com/t/ZfnoR65oi

It seems like you hitting that error is because you didn't set correctly with your domain name from Facebook apps.
Can you check your Facebook apps is it configure this domain name?

By the way, I'm not able to access, because i getting this Warning Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

Morning Arlex

I think this is a security feature. Facebook knows I haven't logged in from your location before and it's raising a security alert. In case I made a mistake with my credentials, I have added them again to the Site Details boxes below.

With regards the URL error, I thought you were going to create a new facebook developer APP? If so, teh URL is http://www.escapeartiststravel.co.uk. If not, please advise how I edit this.

Kind regards
Dave

I am very confused about this whole process. I have followed all the steps (except for making the Facebook App public and submitting it for approval with additional properties.). Will the App work in development mode since it will only be posting from a single user? Do I actually have to submit the app for approval with 5 screen shots etc.?

Hello Myra Ray,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Actually you wouldn't submit Facebook apps for review, you should follow our documentation here -> http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/autoposting/facebook-new-ui
If you need further assistance, please provide us with your Joomla backend and Facebook access so we can help you configure with this.
By the way, I would personally prefer that you start a new thread instead.
