You could create a language override. When creating a new one, use "COM_EASYSOCIAL_PROFILE_USERNAME_SENT" and select "Constant" in the select box. Then, add the additional text and style it accordingly in the left column, style as needed, save your change and you're good to go.

Sorry justin i have tried that and it has not worked for me. it is still just showing "We have sent an activation code to your email" only, no added text i wanted

The theme file responsible to display the registration completed page is located at /components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/registration/default.complete.xxx

There's multiple different completion pages but you probably want to check the default.complete.verify.php because this is the final page for users that requires verification.

It looks like I had the wrong constant. It should be "COM_EASYSOCIAL_REGISTRATION_COMPLETED_SENT_ACTIVATION_CODE", but it won't help in your case since the updated value will still be followed by the email address, based on the code of the file mark mentioned above (line 27). You might be able to reword it to say "We have sent an activation code. If it's not in your inbox, be sure to check your spam filters or Junk folder. The code has been sent to" ... email address
