lets say a user has a question for the easy discuss module. Their question is "what are some common slang names for song birds?".

Obviously, this question can be answered by many different users compiling a composite result. How do we merge answers in these situations? I would think the ability to edit an answer or merge others together would result in a better truth. Thoughts?
Hello Jaymz,

Hm, sorry but I don't really get you here but you can always edit an answer in EasyDiscuss. Am I missing anything here?

Maybe... How does the author of an answer edit the answer after posting?

Hello Jaymz,

Unfortunately you can't and it's meant to be that way because when the site admin / moderator accepts the answer at that point of time, the answer is at it is. If you are allowed to edit your answer, the answer could bring a different meaning altogether.

Sorry, I realize I'm hijacking the thread a little bit. I understand that if a response is marked as an answer, one cannot edit it. I'm now more concerned about a response that isn't marked as anything. For example, if I post submit a post and then realize I made a mistake in spelling, etc. No one has marked it as anything at this point. I thought the ACL would handle that?

Hello Jaymz,

If the post is not marked as "answered" the owner will be able to edit the reply but in your screen shot, that particular rule means that the user group is allowed to edit any replies on the site.

Hello Jaymz Yates,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I'm noticed that when i tried to change your site template to Joomla default - Protostar, it only affected in Easydiscuss frontpage -> http://www.texasoutdoorexchange.com/round-table
But when i click on your discussion post thread, the template is using this -> Hexeris - Default
May i know do you have customize your Easydiscuss theme? Please advise.

Hello -

The only thing custom to my knowledge is my css override file. It can be found here: http://www.texasoutdoorexchange.com/templates/rt_hexeris/css/rt_hexeris-custom.css

Could something in there be causing the edit function to not show?

Hello Jaymz Yates,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I have checked in your site, it seems like you have do the overridden in the Easydiscuss component that styling from this file
JoomlaFolder/templates/rt_hexeris/html/com_easydiscuss/styles/style.css
I have help you temporary rename the com_easydiscuss to _com_easydiscuss, then the edit button will shown out now.

In my opinion, if you to overridden the Easydiscuss styling, you have to add your customize css code in your template css file, that is the best way to overridden in your CSS hack. Hope this help.

That's very odd. I do not recognize that file. I am doing my overrides at the template level. I just logged in and notice the file has recreated. Is the system somehow creating it from somewhere?

Nevermind, I see where you renamed the folder. Maybe that file was from an old install. Thanks for the help.
