Hi SI Team

I am lost.
How do I change the Editor for the Group Discussion App?
I am guessing that it is some kind of combination of
a) the Joomla default editor
b) Selecting a “Composing tool in the Discussions App.

But so far the only thing that seems to work is Editor BBCode.

What am I missing?

I really do not need anything fancy.

Even being able to add quotes would be cool!?!

Maybe a or two?

kindly advise

Paul
Hi Paul,

If you are referring to the built-in ES group discussion app, you can set the editor here: http://take.ms/vJ9uc

Does this work for you?

Hey Paul,

I already checked in your site, it seems like your Vanilla template didn't update to latest version which caused this issue, because Joomla unable to find the non-compressed Tiny-mce js file after enabled "Compress Javascript" mode, so the latest fix is exclude those Tiny-MCE script in order to solve this issue.

I already applied some fix into your site under this file /public_html/plugins/system/helix3/core/helix3.php , it should render that Tiny-MCE editor on the page now.

Can you give it a check is it work fine now?

You're welcome.

I haven't update Vanilla template latest version on your site because i afraid you did some customisation into your current template.

Yes, you can perform this update anytime.

Hi Arlex

This is weird.
I saw the TinyMCE editor.
Used it once.
Then went back to try again and it was back to the old BBCode editor!!!

Checking what customisation I have on the template now.

best

Paul

UPDATE:

To the best of my knowledge this is the only thing that could potentially break:

https://stackideas.com/forums/my-legal-menu-odyssey-again-sorry

And for what it is worth the blue boxes are there again!?!

Other stuff is just module positions:

https://stackideas.com/forums/getting-menu-to-show-up-bottom-right-in-vanilla
https://stackideas.com/forums/getting-module-to-turn-up-top-right-in-vanilla

And of course this:

Hey Paul,

You can try to update your Vanilla template but before doing that, you should take the necessary backups in case your customized files are overwritten.

Hi, hi (partly a note to self)

In the Vanilla Styles section

Custome Code section here:

Custom CSS:

@media (max-width:768px)
{
..nav-pills>li.active>a,
.nav-pills>li.active>a:focus,
.nav-pills>li.active>a:hover {
color: #000000;
background-color: #f5f5f5;
}
}
nav-pills>li.active>a,
.nav-pills>li.active>a:focus,
.nav-pills>li.active>a:hover {
color: #000000;
background-color: #f5f5f5;
}
.sp-module ul > li {
border-bottom: 1px solid #f5f5f5;
}
#sp-position3 {
width: auto !important;
float: right !important;
}

Also in the custom css file here

Joomla/templates/vanilla/css

there is this which should not be effect by an update any way:

/* to hide the video duration on all ES pages with small video thumbnails */
body #es .es-card__video-time {
display: none !important;
}

* adjust the height from the quick registration pop up */
body #es .es-register-box__form-dialog {
max-height: 455px;
}

body #es .es-register-box {
height: 500px;
}

/*
.nav-pills > li.active > a, .nav-pills > li.active > a:focus, .nav-pills > li.active > a:hover {
background-color: #2bb673;
}

.sp-module ul > li {
border-bottom: 1px solid #2bb673;
}
*/

/* Moves Proceed To Cart button to Top Right */

#sp-position3 {
width: auto !important;
float: right !important;
}
