So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The listings can't be removed as the Joomla router needs this to identify which view and layout this page is using. However to you can achieve this by either creating a menu item for each of your blogger or get sh404SEF to beautify your URLs. Hope this helps.

I currently use sh404sef which is how I am rewriting to /blog/ by default then /blog/category-alias/blog-alias.html.

Are you suggesting I just rewrite /listings/author-name.html the the URL manager?

There's 2 ways to do this actually if you are on SH404:

1. Manually alter the URL in SH404 URL manager.

or

2. Customize the SH404 extension file located in /components/com_easyblog/sef_ext/com_easyblog.php

I would imagine configuring the extension file would be best. Would you mind guiding me to which part to edit in order to remove the /listings/ portion?

Thanks! I have customized the sef_ext/com_easyblog.php file and it no longer generates the /listings/ portion

Now instead of saying /listings/ it says "/blogger/". Is it not possible to just have blog/author-name.html?
