We do not currently have a settings to turn this off because we think that the media manager in EasyArticles would be much better than the built-in ones but if you want to, you can always edit the theme file /components/com_easyarticles/themes/wireframe/composer/default/default.editor.php and remove the codes at line 49:

To be honest i tried to use EA editor, but its too simple and havent enough functions like in JCE editor and if you working with many images and doc files in your articles, so is much better to use JCE.

Now i have configured EA with JCE and my customer is happy!

In future could you add the feature like in JCE "Cut the image"? Look screenshot.
All my customers loved that function. Its like instagram. Very simple. You choose image, cutting what you want to see on site then just upload it to the site. Jesus Chrise, if you do that very simple for normal end users, it will be best HIT.
