Easyblog registration is based on joomla registration itself. Hence you need to configure it from your backend > global configuration > users, http://screencast.com/t/pIEfJGJvyfM . However if you integrate easyblog registration with easysocial registration, you can set the activation mode from your backend > easysocial > profile types > select your profile types > registration, and choose registration type to "normal registration", http://screencast.com/t/tMwyjxwv .
