On my site, http://www.seethemodel.com, I have it so that anyone can join the community builder side of the site, but I want only models to be able to join the easy social side (click the Browse menu button and you get there).

I have a Joomla user group called Industry set up for these models (also considered Registered). If they are set as industry I want them to be able to fill out the questions in http://www.seethemodel.com/browse/profile/edit, upload photos and so on. However, I want those who are NOT models, just registered users of the site, to be able to browse models, their photos and even send them messages; and, if possible, not even be able to see things like the option to answer the profile questions or upload photos.

In easy social I created two profiles: industry and non-industry; and I have the questionaire set up under the industry profile and it's user groups are set to industry only. However, that doesn't seem to stop anyone else from clicking the http://www.seethemodel.com/browse/profile/edit link and filling out the form or uploading photos. What am I missing?

EDIT: Just to be sure I made non-industry the default profile within easy social. Then I deleted my facebook user account from the site and then re-signed up with facebook and verified that my user through the joomla users was set as Registered. I then went into easy social and verified that my new profile was set as non-industry for the profile.

Something else that I noticed is that this new non-industry shows up as a user in easy social but I need it to not show up at all. Perhaps I need to find a way to simply block EVERYTHING for a non-industry, including messaging, as I do not want them to show up as a user on the easy social side at all. Just let them view photos and see the contact info that the models provide.
Hello Aloha Bob,

Sorry for late reply to this,
What my suggestion is set "non-industry" profile type to different theme with "Industry" profile type (see my image 1)

Example : Just i show you is set to "Frosty" theme, so you go to Easysocial > Theme > select "Frosty" > configure which option you don't want to show it (see my image 2) But unfortunately we do not have this option for prevent the user edit their avatar.

Then you also can't configure this "non-industry" profile type which part can't allow to access, Easysocial > profile type > select ""non-industry"" > Access tab (see my image 3)

Also. may i know what do you mean of this "Something else that I noticed is that this new non-industry shows up as a user in easy social but I need it to not show up at all." ? Can you provide some screenshot regarding this so we can know what you're trying to achieve here? please advise.

Thanks for getting back to me. I've attached six captures showing what I'm trying to do and have done. I want models (industry profile) to be able to fill out the form on Edit Profile as well as upload photos. I want regular viewers (non-industry profile) to not be able to fill out that form, not be able to upload photos and basically not be able to have a profile shown at all on the ES side.

So you know, I have a slightly different than normal situation. My site allows everyone to log in via JFBConnect. In order to keep regular visitors from registering as models i make models register and then fill out a form. Once I approve them I manually check the Industry group that I installed in the Joomla user groups and then I send them the link to http://www.seethemodel.com/browse/profile/edit where they can then fill out their profile. So they are not actually registering through ES as they are already registered at this point. The site works fine for models as it is now. The problem is that regular users are able to also fill out that form and simply be displayed as an ES user. This would then let other people think these regular users are models, which they are not.

In Themes set Dark as the default for non-industry members. I then set every check box in themes to No. Seems like it does mainly what I want. The problem now is that these people still show up when I browse for all the members.

I'm almost thinking that the only way to accomplish what I want is to only let models register. However, I want regular readers to be able to share and like with facebook and they need to be logged in for that.

As I said before, anyone can log into the site to read full content, comment, etc. But I want only those that I give "industry access" to, via the joomla backend, to display as an Easy Social user when I browse all members. I don't want regular "registered" members to be displayed when browsing via ES.

So you know, Community Builder, which is what I'm using for my main site (trying to keep users separate from models) allows me to select Industry under "User Groups to Include in List:" on their List Manager. That's what I'm hoping to find in ES.

Hello Aloha Bob,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,
Based on your requirement above here:
Unfortunately we do not have the filter/option for only display which profile type in EasySocial ยป Users menu item page.

Also can you list down what you wouldn't like to give this "non-industry" profile type user permission to access some of the option and setting?
Because we do not have some of the permission or setting for restrict their Activity yet, if you do not mind you can provide some suggestion here, so we will see it it can implement this in the future?
