Is there an easy way (e.g. search) to locate and delete a member from a group?

Unfortunately, we dont have this feature currently. But it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this issues by creating a new ticket on the forums and set it to "Feature Request", so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.

Is there also a way to delete multiple members at once from a group please?

I would advice you to use your backend to delete multiple user at the same time.
