Hello guys.

This is a question for both easyblog and easysocial.

how can i clean url errors broken links or crawl errors?

This errors that i see when i go to google search console and see this crawl errors? I could delete it massively in search console simply by selecting all as solved there, but what i need to do in my site to delete those url that didn´t exist...

i mean for example, with the maintenance option that is in both components can i correct this errors? or at least most of them?

Ill wait for your answer.

Best regards.
Hello Fabian,

You need to look at those error urls and determine where they are coming from. Google webmaster would point out the referrer that generates those link so you need to look into that and locate the root problem.

Even if you mark them as resolved and if the problem persists, these urls will re-appear again unless those urls there are generated very long ago (perhaps while you were developing it)

Hello Mark, thanks.

I know what you mean.

My question is: The maintennance option on easyblog and easysocial, what is it for? this option rewrites the urls and maybe delete all the old urls that doesn´t exist?... What i want to know is: I can do that and then after that, crawl the site to create a sitemap that has all the actual urls, and then upload it in search console, to update the urls that does actually exists and then, when Google check this urls, doesn´t found any crawl errors? and finally i could mark as solved all the errors to realise what of those error still persist?

For example if i delete a tag, the url that was created for that tag should not exist any more and in that order of ideas if i do the maintenance, then this allowme to delete that url and after that if i create the new sitemap that URL, is not gonna be crawl because actually doesn´t exist? and that new sitemap is the one i load to my search console, and for example if i mark as solve that crawl not gonna happend again, so that error would not appear again?

Antoher example could be this: I have an article that hast this URL: https://aulapro.co/noticias/querid-graduando-millenial
BUT NOW this article hast this URL: https://aulapro.co/noticias/640-querid-graduando-millenial with the ID, so, with the maintenance could delete that old URL, and then i could crawl the site to create the new sitemap without that old URL of the same article, and then mark as solve on search console, to be sure that is not gonne appear again because simply doesn´t exsit, not even in the new sitemap?

Another example is on easysocial if i delete a user all the data and urls of that registered user most be gone and if i do the maintennance (or maybe i didn´t need to make the maintennance at all) those urls should not appear in the new sitemap when i crawl the site to creatit?

The thing is that i have actually reported more than 9.000 crawl errors and i need to make something massive to repair most of the crawl errors, and i nee to know if this procees could help on that direction, to solve a huge number of errors and after that focus on the persistant errors, that doesn´t has relation with easyblog or easy social.

I was using some component that supoused to be great for SEO, but after a time it turn into a pain in the ass for me and i have to take the decission to uninstallit, so i need to practicly start from zero my SEO process, because i know that easyblog could offerme the tools to work the SEO with out external components.

Sorry for write all this thing but i think this give you the whole picture to advice me on the right way.

Thanks. I know that is weekend, so don´t worry take your time and giveme your comments on monday.

Best regards.

The maintenance option for Easyblog and Easysocial it doesn't done this job.

As long as those old URL doesn't exist on your site, it shouldn't get crawl those old URL when you create new sitemap on your page, mean Google also won't index that old URL page.

If Google already get indexed these old page URL previously which doesn't exist on your site now, the faster way to do this is request for re-index your website on Google.

To do this you have to go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ > verify your site with the "Add a site" button
I believe there got an option to allow user to index specific page only and type in the URL.

By the way, may i know your existing sitemap is it still exist those old URL on the site? If yes, perhaps you can elaborate more details which sitemap URL having those old URL so we can better have a check?
