Hi, I want to display the latest blog article on the frontpage accessed via the Home menu. Currently using the Frontpage Blog Layout. But what I want to do is to remove the navigation at the end of the article.

Another option would be to use the latest blog option but I would need to limit the text displayed on the front page to about 100 chars.

Any thoughts?
Hello Chris,

You can remove the navigation by turning off this option: http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-04_1021.png in Backend>Easyblog>Settings>Layout>General. As for the characters limit, you can set it in the same page under Frontpage Truncation: http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-04_1023.png . Hope this helps.

Hi Nick, thanks for the suggestions, doesn't quite do what I want it to though.

What I want is to display the latest article on the frontpage in a truncated format without the navigation appearing at the bottom of the article.

So if I use the frontpage blog layout and set it to only display the latest single post then turning off navigations wont work as that only functions in the full entry view. Again truncating the characters as per the image is only active in frontpage layout and doesn't affect the navigations.

If I use the latest article module then I can indeed remove the navigations but I can't truncate the characters as it's now not in frontpage view.

I could split the content into introtext and fulltext but I think it would only confuse the users of the blog!

I think I'll leave the navigations showing as it's not going to detract from the blog function or view.

Thanks

hello Chris Hall ,

Can you provide us some screenshot which navigations you referring to?

Also can you give us a chance to help you do it and provide us with your Joomla backend access so that we can take a look of this? Please advise.
