Dear support!

Perhabs I haven't seen it, but I am stuck in the following problem:

I use a category called "unsorted" for my imprint, my private policy, ... I hide the category, so that it is not listed, if I clicked to see my categories in the frontend. That works fine. But if I wanted to drop a blog into that category, it is not shown in the dropdown box in the backend.

On the other hand, I looked at the blogs I created and all the texts are shown. How can I avoid that the imprint (in several languages) and other blogs/articles I did not want to show, are shown in that view? Did I fail to see the option that I need to switch off or activate?
Hello Volker,

You don't have to unpublished the category. You just hide it from the Category access. Once the category is unpublished, It will not shown on any area in Easyblog. If you don't want to display the article, you can unpublish the article.

Hello Volker,

Based on your case, you might want to try the permission option in Backend>Easyblog>Categories under Category Access tab: http://screencast.com/t/ERM3EsxKMrw . In here, you can set up who can/can't view the category and who can select the category from the dropdown menu. Hope this helps.

Editing the category access tab is not the solution for my problem. Unpublished categories are still not shown in the backend dropdown menu in an article that is in an unpublished category. Because I cannot choose the unpublished category, I could not save any changes made e.g. for the language or in the text, because the category is shown as empty. On the article overview the correct category is shown.

So this might be a bug.

Ok, I understand. Perhabs I didn't see the tree while standing in a wood. I tryed to hide the category from being listed in any view, not recognizing that I need to see it because of being Admin/Publisher, all Guests, Registered, ... will not see it.

Thanks for opening my view.
